Started reading Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, as a recommendation from Zakiya. Aside from being gripping, it really has me thinking a lot about my heritage and the sacrifices my ancestors made.
I’ve been sending many of my group chats this interview with artist Rindon Johnson. It’s about the tension between digital and physical worlds. It put to words what I’ve been feeling and exploring lately about the dimensions of ourselves in non-physical spaces. After it, I ordered his zine, NOBODY SLEEPS BETTER THAN WHITE PEOPLE.
I shared an early demo of Maslow, a short documentary I composed for BBC’s Shortcuts.
I made a painting called “in need of a moment”.
